Robin Roberts is a television host in the United States. Roberts hosts ABC's Good Morning America.
Roberts was the first woman of colour and the first openly LGBT woman to host the popular American television quiz show Jeopardy.
Roberts worked as a sports anchor for local television after growing up in Mississippi and attending Southeastern Louisiana University.
For 15 years, Roberts worked as an ESPN sportscaster. In 2005, she was named co-anchor of Good Morning America.
In 2012, Roberts was inducted into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame. Her myelodysplastic syndrome treatment was documented on the show.
Roberts was born in Tuskegee, Alabama,[1][3] and raised in Pass Christian, Mississippi, where she participated in basketball and tennis.
She began working as a sportscaster for ESPN in February 1990 and remained there until 2005. "Go on with your bad self!" she exclaimed on Sports Center.
In June 1995, Roberts began working for ABC News, specifically as a featured reporter for Good Morning America. Roberts earned the Mel Greenberg Award
