Sarah J Maas controversy

Maas. Sarah Janet Maas is an American fantasy author best known for the Throne of Glass and A Court of Thorns and Roses series.

She has sold over twelve million copies of her books as of 2021, and her work has been translated into 37 languages.

Throughout the series, Sarah is a feminist who is always cognizant of including women in positions of authority.

For good reason, Sarah J. Maas is one of the most popular authors in the young adult fantasy genre.

I believe it depends. I'm a white, cis woman, and while I wasn't offended by anything in her novels, I did find them to be somewhat exclusive.

She writes a lot of "golden tan" characters, which is sort of lame; she should either write diversely or not at all.

Furthermore, her primary female characters frequently begin with some form of trauma that they do not begin to heal from or cope with.

She began Throne of Glass when she was 16 and ACOTAR a few years later, and you can clearly see her progression.

While she hasn't yet become a household name, Wealthy Persons estimates her net worth to be around $40 million.
